Abby Delaney just ran over Seth Caldwell’s guitar. Twice. The semi-reclusive writer isn’t having a good day.

Meeting the musician who was literally the man of her dreams couldn’t have been more of a disaster. However, the sparks flare, and the bond they form over their mutual love of writing quickly leads him straight into her arms... and her bed. He wants her with him when he leaves her small Minnesota town, but a series of painful events makes her resist trading her safe haven for life on the road. Could she be simultaneously thrilled and terrified? Apparently so.

The situation becomes more complicated – and potentially deadly – when Seth narrowly escapes falling victim to a bomb. They soon learn this was a second attempt on his life, and the killer believes the third time will be a charm. Despite evidence to the contrary, Seth refuses to believe the perpetrator could be a member of Dead End Road or their crew. But is his loyalty endangering Abby’s life? Would she be safer if he went back to Texas until the killer is caught? And would she ever forgive him if he did?

With the help of Abby’s meddling mother, Seth’s band members, an emotionally disturbed groupie, a one-eyed stray dog, and other off-beat characters, Abby and Seth race to unravel the mystery. But they not only have to survive, they have to find a way to maintain the trust they’ve established, or their passionate future is as dead as Seth’s guitar.
