You're not really interested in me. You want to read about Seth and Abby, right? Well, for that to happen, we will have to get this thing into print. But we don't want to be strangers, do we?
I was born and raised in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Yes, West Virginia is a state. It's not the western part of Virginia. No it's not. Believe me, I lived there. I married my high school sweetheart, and we celebrated our 25th anniversary in September 2008. He's my best friend and biggest supporter, even if he did have the extraordinarily bad judgement to call my writing a "hobby" once. I did not take this well, and Seth and Abby threatened to assume
control of my body and commit atrocities upon his person. I promised to write them another really great sex scene, and they relented. But it was close.
We've lived in Minnesota since 1996, after a dozen years relocating across Ohio and Indiana, with the longest stop being eight years in Indianapolis, where I worked for the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library (Go, Eaglets!).
My son, daughter-in-law, and two granddogs live in St. Paul, and my daily life is monopolized by the three dogs that currently make up my own pack. I manage a holistic veterinary practice, when I'm not trying to convince my characters to either talk to me or shut-the-hell-up-already.
I was recently featured on the Dog Writers Association of America website, in recognition for my winning the 2008 Maxwell Award for Best Regular Blog for a series of essays about one of my dogs' muddy exploits. You'll find out some more irrelevant, but possibly interesting things if you visit this link. (There are also pictures of dogs, so that makes it totally worth it.)
